Welcome to Pairdot Inc., a Delaware-incorporated company headquartered in Atlanta, GA. We are the creators of Promptaa, a SaaS platform and Chrome Extension designed to help users optimize, organize, and enhance AI prompts for improved usability and productivity.

We value your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your information. By using Promptaa, including the Chrome Extension, you agree to the practices described below.

2. Information Collection

Information You Provide

Account Details: Full name, email address, and password (hashed and salted)
Prompt Content: Any text or data submitted for storage or enhancement
Communication Data: Messages sent to support channels

Information Collected Automatically

Usage Data: Pages viewed, features used, interactions within the app, and events such as prompt creation, enhancement, and copying
Device and Log Data: Browser type, operating system, IP address, referral URLs
Analytics Identifiers: When you are signed in, your name, email address, and username may be associated with usage events to help us understand how our services are used and to improve the user experience
Website Context: When you use the Promptaa Chrome Extension's enhance or save features on a webpage, we collect the hostname of that webpage to understand which platforms our extension is used with
Cookies and Tracking: We use cookies and similar technologies to provide functionality, personalize content, and analyze usage

3. Third-Party Analytics Services

We use PostHog, a third-party analytics platform, to collect and process usage data. When you use Promptaa (including the Chrome Extension), analytics data is transmitted to PostHog's servers (hosted at us.i.posthog.com). This data includes:

Usage events (e.g., features used, prompts created or enhanced)
Your user identifier, name, and email address (when signed in)
Website hostnames where the Chrome Extension is used

PostHog processes this data on our behalf to help us analyze usage patterns and improve our services. For more information on how PostHog handles data, please refer to https://posthog.com/privacy.

We do not sell your personal information to PostHog or any other third party.

4. Chrome Extension

The Promptaa Chrome Extension provides prompt enhancement and library features directly in your browser. In addition to the data collection described above, the Chrome Extension:

Runs on all webpages to provide the floating enhance button. It does not read or collect page content unless you explicitly use the enhance or save feature.
Reads content from editable text fields only when you click the enhance or save button. This text is sent to Promptaa's servers for processing and is not stored beyond what is needed to complete the request.
Collects the hostname (not the full URL) of the webpage where you use the enhance or save feature, for analytics purposes.
Requires authentication via Clerk to access your prompt library and use enhancement features. Authentication tokens are managed securely within the extension.
Uses local storage within the extension to manage session state and user preferences.

The Chrome Extension requests the following browser permissions:

storage: To save extension preferences and session state
sidePanel: To display the prompt library in Chrome's side panel
cookies: To support authentication
identity: To support authentication flows
tabs: To open the side panel and communicate between extension contexts

5. Use of Information

We use the information we collect to:

Provide, operate, and maintain our services
Authenticate and manage user accounts
Respond to inquiries and support requests
Enhance features, user experience, and reliability
Analyze usage patterns and improve our services
Send account-related communications and service notices
Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service

We do not sell your personal information.

6. Data Retention

Active Users: Data is retained as long as your account remains active
Deleted Accounts: Data is retained for up to 90 days after deletion to allow account recovery, unless otherwise required by law
Analytics Data: Usage events and associated identifiers are retained in PostHog in accordance with our data retention settings and PostHog's data retention policies
Legal/Business Purposes: Data may be retained longer if mandated by regulations
Aggregated or anonymized data may be retained indefinitely

7. User Rights

You have the right to:

Access: Request a copy of the data we hold about you
Correction: Update or correct your personal information
Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated data, including analytics data
Objection/Restriction: Object to or limit how your data is processed under certain circumstances

8. Content Restrictions

Users are prohibited from creating or uploading content that is:

Pornographic
Malicious or harmful
In violation of laws or third-party rights

We reserve the right to review and remove any content that violates these terms and to suspend or terminate offending accounts.

9. Data Security

Encryption: All data in transit is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS. Sensitive data is stored encrypted at rest.
Access Controls: Role-based access and authentication mechanisms are in place.
Monitoring and Auditing: Systems are monitored for unauthorized access.
Employee Training: Staff are trained on privacy and data protection.

Despite these efforts, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date at the top will be revised accordingly. If changes are material, we will notify users via email or through a prominent notice within Promptaa. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
